The Road Fund has disbursed K12.4 million for emergency cleaning and maintenance work along the Magi Highway. The works, undertaken by the Department of Works in partnership with local contractors, focus on drainage clearing, vegetation control and pavement repair at twelve identified hot-spots.
The Magi Highway is a critical economic corridor connecting Port Moresby to Central Province and onward to Milne Bay. Restoring its serviceability is a key priority under the 2024 Annual Maintenance Plan.
